Many of us are taught to abide by the system and the system will reward us.

Get a job, work for years and retire comfortably later on.

Financial independence is about breaking free from this system.

Create your own financial eco-system independent from an employer.

Financial Independence can be more than a dream. It can be your reality.

That is what the Financial Joy Academy is about.

Financial Joy Academy (FJA) Review – How To Achieve Financial Independence

Financial Joy Academy is built with a core mission.

To help you remove money stress and achieve financial independence.

This aligns strongly with our mission too.

    So we’re members of FJA.

In fact, we’re one of the early members who joined when it launched in 2020.

    How To Achieve Financial Independence

Here’s a plan to achieve financial independence.

The starting point is to work out where you are on that map.

Then you plan your journey to get to the next level until you reach Financial Independence in stage 6.

The Financial Joy Academy membership gives you the map, the plan and much more.

What’s great is that the founders of FJA are financially independent today.

In fact, they achieved financial independence in 10 years!

We joined FJA because we wanted to learn from those who’ve walked the walk.

Who Are The Founders of FJA?

Ken and Mary of The Humble Penny are the founders of the Financial Joy Academy.

Ken was a Chief Financial Officer and Mary worked as a manager of a nursery school.

They paid off their mortgage in 7 years.

They achieved financial independence whilst in their mid-thirties with two children.

And they both quit their jobs and are living life on their terms.

That’s a dream for many, including me.

How many people do you know who aren’t dreaming it but living it?

I trust and know that they will teach us what they’ve done. Not just what they’ve read in a book.

Let’s look into what they have to offer.

    Your Financial Joy Academy Membership

These are the benefits you get as a member of the Financial Joy Academy.

I’ll break these down from my experience as a member.

    Courses (& Masterclasses)

These courses alone make the membership worth it.

Courses are like formal pre-recorded webinars with multiple videos for each lesson.

Each lesson has action plans for you to follow.

Masterclasses are live webinars with an expert guest where you can join live.

    Spoiler Alert!

The core courses are to teach you how to achieve Financial Independence.

One of the lessons is called 5 Paths to Financial Independence.

The action plan is to choose which paths you’ll take.

    The 5 paths are:

    1. Stock Market Investing
    2. Property Investing
    3. Debt Elimination
    4. Starting A Business
    5. Maximising Your Career

For me, this is where FJA really shines – there are courses and masterclasses for each strategy!

There’s a masterclass on E-Commerce, HMO property investing, LinkedIn and so much more.

They don’t teach you how to calculate your FI number, plan your journey and leave you to it.

They equip you with what you need for the journey.

    Coaching

As if the courses and masterclasses aren’t enough, you’ll get group coaching.

As members, we currently meet up every two weeks on a group call for 1 hour.

We submit our questions prior to the call for Ken & Mary to answer.

Sometimes we have an open mic call where you can ask your questions during the call.

It’s a safe environment and really has a community feel to it.

If you can’t make it, the calls are recorded for you to watch when you have time.

One of my highlights was the vision board party at the start of the year.

We spent 2-3 hours co-creating our vision boards together.

This was such a good night with good vibes.

    Community & Networking

    I love the FJA community.

Not many in our personal circle share our mission for financial independence.

Many share the dream, but not the mission.

There’s nothing like being amongst a group of like-minded people.

As a member of FJA, you’ll be part of this growing community of Dream Makers.

All of us rallying towards the same mission.

Above this, you’ll have access to people from all walks of life.

There are accountants, graphic designers, developers and nurses.

You’ll also find bloggers, property experts, lawyers and investors.

The list is endless to the wealth of knowledge in the community.

You’ll be part of a private Facebook group where you’ll be able to reach out to everyone.

Ken & Mary also go live on the Facebook group to share behind-the-scenes and personal thoughts.

One of my favourites was Ken talking about the mindset to earn a six figure income.

    Accountability

I don’t know about you but I’m in a number of groups, masterminds and so on.

It’s easy to be lost in the sea of the community and not have a sense of belonging.

I’m so glad things are different in FJA.

    One To One Accountability

    First, we have accountability partnerships.

This is where you get paired with someone to be accountability partners for 3 months.

You’ll have one to one calls with your partner either weekly or every 2 weeks.

You push each other to put in the work!

You hold each other accountable for your goals and plan for financial independence.

Once your 3 months is up you rotate to be with the next person.

I honestly think of my accountability partners as good friends.

I feel a bond because we share the same mission.

    Group Accountability

This another personal favourite of mine.

We have the 5 am club

We wake up at 5 am every weekday and join a group call.

In the first 10 or so minutes of the call, someone shares something.

Can be a thought, a snippet from a book, or a quickfire knowledge drop.

Then we stay muted on the call and have a co-working space.

It’s such a great way to start your day.

Getting up at 5 am may be hard on your own.

But knowing you won’t be alone drives you to get up and put in the work.

Secondly, in the Facebook group, we post the weekly goals we’re aiming for.

At the end of the week, we post our progress against those goals.

A big part of this success of community and accountability is the Community Manager.

They do a fantastic job of being on the ground with what’s going on.

How Much Is The Financial Joy Academy Membership?

Financial Joy Academy Review How To Achieve Financial Independence Skilled Finances

You can join FJA monthly and pay for the fee per month.

Or you can join FJA annually and pay one payment for 12 months, which works out to be 10 month’s worth.

Both will auto-renew and will go on for the lifetime of your membership.

Remember, you get a 15% DISCOUNT off your first payment if you join using our referrals links.

    Prive vs Value

I had to have a mindset shift to join FJA.

I’ll liken it to a book.

The price of a book can be stated in pounds and dollars. But what’s it’s value?

Many books have profoundly changed my mindset and my life.

Can’t put a price on that.

It’s easy to think of this membership as an expense.

In a sense it is. But what you gain from it is where the value is.

We’ve gained so much for being Dream Makers in FJA, that’s our value.

By the way, we also have a monthly book club in FJA.

What I Wish Was Different About Financial Joy Academy

I’ll admit there’s room for improvement.

    Currently, courses are launched sporadically.

For instance, a new course will be launched to teach you how to launch a blog.

The next launched course teaches ways to invest in property.

I’d prefer a course that builds on the previous one and covers elements of running a blog.

However, I understand this approach as there are various strategies for Financial Independence.

Plus, new courses are always in development. In time they’ll all come together.

Secondly, Ken and Mary are amazing. But they are two people.

When you join it can feel as though they may not be readily available to respond to your Facebook posts.

They are busy and have other commitments so have some patience.

And finally, things can feel unstructured and unplanned.

For example, we could get an email the day before a masterclass is due to go live.

Over time I believe things will fall into place. Especially as they grow their team.

Besides, all these points are less in weight than the various benefits I’ve spoken of.

    Financial Joy Academy Review Summary

I’ve been a member of Financial Joy Academy for one year.

I deliberately held off writing a review until now so I can say my honest thoughts.

I absolutely love being part of Financial Joy Academy.

In essence, I don’t see my membership as an expense but an investment.

One that pays off almost immediately in my opinion.
